Seven things:
- The High-Performance Graphics 2021 conference call for participation is up, virtual conference will be July 6-9. I was particularly impressed with their video production for last year’s virtual conference.
- I3D 2021’s posters submission deadline has been extended to next Tuesday, March 30th.
- Yet another fantastic shadertoy.
- The book 3D Math Primer for Graphics and Game Development, 2nd ed., is now free for download. In a similar vein, I finally noticed that the book Learn OpenGL is also free for download. They’ve both been added to my list. There’s something to be said for physical versions, however, as researchers are finding retention of information is lower when read digitally.
- By one metric, the C language is still the top programming language.
- When you want your random numbers fast, use lasers. If you’re mellow and not in a rush, use lava lamps (bonus fact: Silicon Graphics also did this back around 1997, and the patents have evidently expired).
- The lines and the circles are not moving.
